When in doubt...
“Wear a sari. Whether it’s something old—my grandmother’s or (my husband) Mohit’s grandmother’s French chiffon saris, or my mum’s and masi’s silk tissue saris—or something new, like the pre-draped styles from 431-88 by Shweta Kapur and Gaurav Gupta. The range, nostalgia, and appeal of a sari cannot be matched. It truly works for every occasion—and even changing body types.”

2025 core
“Handlooms are making a huge comeback this season. It’s about taking traditional pieces and styling them to feel current. I’m loving brocades, self-textured fabrics, minimal motifs—and tone-on-tone is always a winner. The corset is another great accent—you’ll see them paired with lehengas and saris, especially by Gen Z. It’s also time to bring out those heirloom pieces of jewellery, passed down through generations—items that money just can’t buy anymore.”
That one statement
“I love my mum’s Navratan piece—it’s one of a kind. You can dress it up (like I did with a very contemporary 431-88 sari) or dress it down (my go-to is a Chanderi kurta for a puja or something more informal).”

Current moodboard
“I recently wore something that’s been on my moodboard forever—an all-white, draped look like the one Aishwarya Rai wore in Taal. It may be a '90s film, but that look is still so elegant and relevant today. I styled it with vintage silver jewellery.”
Best wedding look
“A gorgeous crinkled organza and tissue self-embroidered Astha Narang lehenga for a wedding in Jaisalmer. I added fresh roses and sunglasses for a vintage-glam vibe (maybe a bit of modern Gangubai roleplay). The guest list included some very fashionable people from around the world—I received a lot of compliments!”

Pro tip
“Always have fun with your looks, whether you’re getting married or attending as a guest. It has to feel comfortable—it’s your day, so make it about you!”
