Let’s be real—2025's bridal moments didn’t just have us saying "aww." They had us hitting “repost, “share” and “LOVE” in all CAPS. Whether it was your favourite pop star announcing her engagement, a bride wearing multiple dresses (because why not?), an Indian bridesmaid’s European wedding wardrobe, or a jaw-dropping wedding celebration turning into a global event, 2025 was all about the spectacle. From million-dollar rings to billion-dollar wedding celebrations, this year’s bridal moments were nothing less than one giant flex on social media. Here’s your inside look at the weddings that absolutely dominated our feeds and Pinterest boards this year.

1. Taylor Swift enters her engaged era

When Taylor Swift’s engagement to Travis Kelce dropped on August 26th, 2025, it didn’t feel like just another celebrity headline—it felt like that text from your best friend you’ve been waiting for: “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” And, yes, as a Swiftie, I couldn’t help but do my little happy dance. But what really made us all go ‘awww’ wasn’t just the proposal—it was the ring. Kelce designed it with New York-based jeweller Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewellery: a brilliant-cut old mine diamond set in a yellow-gold bezel hand-finished band. It quickly became the defining bridal jewel of 2025. The year had its share of ring moments—Zendaya’s east-west cushion-cut debut at the Golden Globes, Georgina Rodriguez’s insanely massive oval-cut from Cristiano Ronaldo, and plenty more. But Taylor’s ring felt personal, unforgettable, and somehow made every Swiftie feel like they were part of the moment—like bridesmaids in her love story.

Months later, during an interview on the UK’s Heart Breakfast radio show, Taylor revealed, “I had shown him a video like a year and a half ago, and he was just paying attention to everything, it turns out.” That detail had the internet swooning—because he actually listened! With that proposal, it's safe to say 2026 brides (and grooms) have a lot of ring notes to take.

2. Samantha Ruth Prabhu set ring goals

Samantha Ruth Prabhu’s wedding with filmmaker Raj Nidimoru on December 1st may have been a quiet affair, but the ring on her finger certainly caused a stir. Forget the traditional sparkler—her engagement ring was a bold statement that left the internet buzzing, not just with “aww’s” but with confusion and curiosity. Sporting a transparent diamond that seemed almost ethereal, the ring’s geometric design was as unconventional as it gets, making it look more like a work of modern art than a typical piece of bridal bling. Internet trolls had their fun, calling it everything from plastic to glass, but no one could deny the intrigue around it.

Turns out, the piece was a portrait cut vintage piece designed by the elusive Theodoros Savopoulos, an Athens-based jeweller who prefers to remain "purposefully unknown" while catering to an exclusive clientele. The ring’s old cut diamond with roots dating back to the 17th century, was once used by Mughal emperors to protect portraits. Now, it’s sitting on Samantha’s ring finger––and we are wondering if the transparent diamond will turn into a trend in 2026 or just die down this year itself. For now, we are still trying to wrap our heads around it. Internet trolls had their fun, calling it everything from plastic to glass, but no one could deny the intrigue around it. The old cut diamond itself dates back to the 17th century, once used by Mughal emperors like Shah Jahan to protect hand painted portraits. Now, it’s gracing Samantha’s finger—and we’re left wondering: Will this transparent diamond trend take off in 2026, or will it fade before that? For now, we’re still trying to wrap our heads around it.

3. The undisputed wedding of the year, starring JLo

Every year, it feels like weddings are getting bigger, fatter, and just downright more extra. And 2025 was no exception—thanks to Netra Mantena and Vamsi Gadiraju's opulent Udaipur celebration on November 23rd. With A-list hosts like Karan Johar and Dia Mirza, and stars such as Shahid Kapoor, Janhvi Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Madhuri Dixit, and Jennifer Lopez lighting up the sangeet and mehendi dance floors, it was a true celebration of art, fashion, and glamour. And let’s not forget Jlo in that Manish Malhotra sari—that look practically flooded our feeds for weeks after the wedding. A personal bridal standout for me was Netra’s custom Rahul Mishra lehenga for the haldi ceremony. A poetic tribute to her groom Vamsi (whose name references Krishna’s flute), the lehenga featured delicate 3D flowers, sacred lotuses, and dancing figurines. The 3 day celebration that had us invested for weeks definitely sets the bar high for the next big, fat 2026 wedding. But for now, this one undoubtedly takes the crown as wedding of the year.

4. Selena Gomez said yes to the dress(es)

Every bride-to-be knows the struggle: “Why do I have to choose? I love them all!” But this year, Selena Gomez proved you don’t have to. After a year and a half of dating, Selena and Benny Blanco—the couple behind "I can’t get enough"—finally tied the knot in Santa Barbara on September 27, 2025. And Selena totally owned her bridal moment. She chose not one, not two but three custom Ralph Lauren, each one for a different moment of her big day. And as if that wasn’t enough, she also slipped into a floral-embellished white mini blazer dress for her rehearsal dinner, also by Ralph Lauren. Because, why not?

Selena shared her first bridal look—a satin-silk halter-neck gown—but that wasn’t the dress she walked down the aisle in. Hours later, Benny posted another picture of her in a lace dress with over 300 hand-applied lace flowers. Later, she switched into a shorter double neckline white dress for their first dance and cake-cutting. The Rare Beauty founder showed us that there’s no need to settle for just one look. Brides of 2026, take note: multiple dresses for your big day? Absolutely.

5. Charlie XCX unveils the Gen Z brat bride

Charlie XCX made one serious style statement earlier this year when she married George Daniel on July 19th in an intimate gathering of 20 close friends and family at London’s Hackney Town Hall. The pop icon chose a Vivienne Westwood Nova Cora white mini dress that reimagined the traditional bridal silhouette. With a sculpted corset, sweetheart neckline, and asymmetric draped skirt, she paired the playful mini with a short veil and Jimmy Choo pumps, serving a look that was modern yet elegant. The Brat singer kept her signature shield shades in place, ensuring her club brat image wasn’t entirely abandoned.

Charlie XCX's aisle moment served as a bridal muse for Gen-Z brides this year. And as for 2026, this look is already making its way onto mood boards for brides who want to keep it chic, romantic, and just a little bit unconventional.

6. Alia Bhatt out-bridesmaids everyone

When Alia Bhatt posted a photo dump from her best friend Tanya Saha Gupta’s wedding in Spain this May, I couldn’t help but swoon over her bridesmaid wardrobe. The all-white three-piece set by Shantanu Nikhil she wore to the ceremony was exactly what I’d want for a European summer wedding. The embroidered bandhgala jacket, left open to show off the matching blouse and high-waisted pleated satin skirt, paired with a white clutch, beaded choker, earrings, and, of course, those vintage sunglasses, perfectly complemented the sunny Spanish backdrop. One look that instantly made it to my haldi and mehendi inspiration board was the colourful Arpita Mehta bandhani lehenga she paired with a matching potli, Gucci sunglasses, and a printed headscarf. Fun, playful, and definitely hard to miss. Alia’s bridesmaid moment was sealed in her embellished strapless black gown by Rahul Mishra. The entire bride's quad coordinated in black, with Tanya in gorgeous white, and the group photos were nothing short of girl squad goals.
