2025 core

“Everything old is new again—heirloom pieces are officially cool. Think age-old Patola saris paired with sculptural blouses, or my grandmother’s temple jewellery styled with sleek gowns. There’s undeniable charm in nostalgia. This season, deep jewel tones like cobalt blue, emerald green, and regal purple are dominating the palette.”

That one statement

“I have to go with two! A floral Sabyasachi georgette sari from 15 years ago—its soft pastel print and delicate sequin border still feel effortlessly right for a daytime wedding. And then there’s my grandmother’s Patola, a striking weave in mustard, purple, and red. I’m endlessly drawn to its unexpected colour harmony and heirloom appeal.”

Styling hacks

“Rewearing and repurposing are my go-to styling hacks—combining something vintage with something new instantly makes a look more personal. Corsets are having a moment, and styling one with a sari adds such a fresh, contemporary twist. I also believe less is more with Indian wear. A simple silk sari can come alive with the right belt, statement jewels, or an unexpected blouse. I'm especially inspired by the new wave of designers like Re Ceremonial, Anushka Khanna, Arpita Mehta, Kshitij, Ekaya, and Torani—they bring such thoughtful modernity to tradition.”

Lust list

“An emerald and diamond collar necklace from Jay Sagar.”

Current moodboard

“Alia in a vintage Banarasi sari by Manish Malhotra, paired with a bandeau blouse and exquisite lotus-themed jewels by Sunita Shekhawat. To me, the look felt timeless and classic—yet refreshingly modern and completely age-appropriate.”

When in doubt

“Wear a sari. It’s the one silhouette that never fails—whether it’s a vintage handloom weave, a slinky satin or georgette drape, or a full-blown sequin moment. The sari’s versatility means I can dress it up or down, make it traditional or contemporary, depending on the mood. It’s timeless, effortless, and always impactful.”
