One half of the House of Misu, Summiyya Patni Shah is one of the OG content creators from India. Over the years, her style has evolved and she’s documented it all, complete with her styling advice. So what’s her current vibe? She’s now leaning towards beautifully tailored pieces, fine embroidery and sophisticated streamlined cuts. And when it comes to her jewellery, she is all about maximal impact. Patni Shah is having fun with her evolving style codes and she’s embracing the maximal-minimal pairing in her traditional looks as well. As she hops from one palace to the next, she tells us how she’s bringing some of this into her wedding guest wardrobe.

Wed count: “When you hit my age, weddings slow down a bit. I still made it to three last year—Udaipur, Delhi and Mumbai—and they were all fabulous.”

Wedding guest vibe: “Gold always and forever. It never misses. My favourite look this year was a gold Falguni Shane Peacock wrap sari that hugged all the right places. Their pieces always make me feel sexy and confident. I love fitted, cinched styles, whether it’s a wrap sari or a fishtail lehenga. I usually dress more modestly, so for me, great tailoring is everything. And finally, layer on the jewels. I’m a more-is-more girl when it comes to jewellery. It’s the fastest way to take a look from sweet to standout.”

Dress codes: “The themes were ‘Cocktails by the Pichola’ and ‘Night at the Shikaarbaugh’. For the cocktails, it was a beautifully embroidered black Falguni Shane Peacock jacket paired with slick hair. For the royal one, I wore a stunning gold Ridhi Mehra. I’m finding myself drawn to clean, cool cuts over overly elaborate silhouettes. It always comes down to great tailoring. An outfit is only truly amazing if it fits just right.”

Destination wedding hacks: “Try on every look with jewellery before packing. It saves time, space, and your sanity. Always pack one backup outfit and a choker set because you never know when a zipper might break or an earring goes rogue. Pack each look in a separate cube so you’re not digging through your suitcase while running late—story of my life!”

Won’t leave home without: “My phone. She’s always with me.”

In my clutch: “Lipstick, safety pins, mints, bobby pins, a Band-Aid… basically, survival mode in a mini bag.”

Next wedding: “Udaipur again. Clearly, the universe knows I love a palace moment.”
