It’s been pouring down across the country, and between grey skies, endless puddles and a lot of time indoors, I found myself catching up on things I’d been putting off. Which, of course, has led me to a couple of brand-new obsessions that I absolutely have to share.
First up: a book-shaped delight. I stumbled upon Daisies in the Wild by Stuti Agarwal at the newly opened HarperCollins floor in Kunzum, Delhi. Think Enid Blyton’s Malory Towers or St Clare’s but given an Indian heart and voice. It’s nostalgia with a twist: queerness, friendship, and the kind of themes that would’ve probably made Enid clutch her pearls. The writing is fresh, the characters feel real, and the cover? Utterly adorable. If you’ve ever smuggled tuck boxes or dreamt of midnight feasts, this one’s for you.
And then, in a completely different corner of my brain, lives my other fixation: KATSEYE. Their recent campaign with Gap sent me spiralling down a rabbit hole of music videos, each one cooler than the last. This global pop band has a retro vibe, Y2K sparkle, and storytelling that makes every video feel like a mini-movie. Inclusivity? Check. Catchy bops? Double check. Whether it’s ‘Gabriela’ or ‘Touch’, their songs are pure serotonin. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I had a band to fangirl over like this. But if you’re looking for more, we’ve lined up plenty of other stories for you to dive into.
