Top 8 reasons you should be at The Wedding Collective

The debut edition promises to have something for everyone

We get it. City living is hectic—work, school, family, social obligations. There’s traffic. And then of course the monsoons. All very valid points, especially when it comes to adding yet another event to the calendar, but trust us when we tell you that The Wedding Collective (TWC) promises to be like no other show you’ve seen. From August 23-August 25, come experience a beautifully curated, highly immersive retail experience a the Jio World Convention Centre.

Something for everyone

“While there are many offerings around the country, we come from a position of scale, with a consummate end-to-end wedding offering, that’s not only for the bride and groom, but for the family, and the guests. Suffice it to say, this will be the most comprehensive, curated, immersive wedding experience the country has seen,” says Priya Tanna, president, The Right Side, Reliance Retail’s creative agency and the force behind this show. Even if you don’t have a wedding in the family, the wide offering promises to have you covered for all upcoming festive celebrations.

Access to India’s top talent

Name any other show where India’s top couturiers and jewellers will be present to interact with their clients? From Manish Malhotra and Anita Dongre to Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla, along with jewellers like Sunita Shekhawat, our leading creatives will all be present to meet and interact with brides, grooms and their families providing a bespoke, intimate experience that really cannot be replicated.

Impeccable curation, from across the country

This is a country with such diversity in tradition and talent, and at The Wedding Collective we wish to honour that. In our special Sari Pavilion, we spotlight unique textiles and crafts from across India–from the Parsi Gara to vibrant Kashmiri resham work and more. Continuing that focus, is also The Artisan Audit by Jaina Lalbhai, a specially curated pop up that brings the focus to textural crafts and traditions, hand-picked by the Ahmedabad based aesthete. “Each brand that I have placed in this pavilion is an homage to the crafts and textiles of India,” says Lalbhai.

Beauty brands from across the globe

Find everything related to beauty, skincare and wellness at the Tira lounge. With a vast array of names to choose from including Deepika Padukone’s 82E, Mira Kapoor’s AKind to YSL, Bobbi Brown and Huda, this exclusive pop up will have your arsenal stocked for the big day. “Guests can expect exclusive beauty treatments, personalised makeup consultations, and luxurious skincare recommendations from top global and homegrown brands,” says Bhakti Modi, co-founder and VP, strategy and development.

Accessories, accessories, accessories

Any look—bridal or festive—is incomplete without the finishing touch, in the form of the perfect accessory. Sparkly stilettos, party-ready clutches and bags, the right accessory can make or break your look. Ajio Luxe is curating a special pavilion at TWC that will include the best of their roster of international home and accessory brands to complete your look.

The right spirits

This promises to be the buzziest (pun intended) event. What’s a wedding without the perfect cocktail? We’ve partnered with Johnnie Walker’s refreshing mixer for the most delicious drinks. Take a break from the business of shopping, and unwind with your loved ones and our signature beverages, or learn from their masters on creating your very own special drink for the big day.

A moveable feast

At The Wedding Collective, you can sample the best cuisine from across the world. Courtesy, the JWCC’s Chef Joydev Bhattacharya, the food at TWC, plated in a specially created restaurant for this event, promises everything from New Zealand lamb shops to the cuisine from all corners of India. Live cooking counters and delectable desserts will also be on offer for guests who can enjoy a good meal with their families.

The country’s premier venue

The Jio World Convention Centre (JWCC) spans over 1,03,012sq.m, in the heart of Mumbai. It is the largest and most luxurious indoor venue, playing host to the most exclusive events. Where else can you recreate a city like Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant did for their wedding, paying homage for Varanasi in great splendour and detail? Its expanse allows for a retail experience like no other, while allowing guests to experience it as a possible wedding venue.
