2026 doesn’t arrive quietly. It gallops in, bold, impatient, and full of that “let’s get moving already” energy. In the Chinese Zodiac, it’s the Year of the Horse. In numerology, 2026 adds up to a powerful One, the number of beginnings and fresh chapters and daring first steps. Add astrology to the mix, and there’s an unmistakable theme to the mood. This is a year that favours momentum, truth-telling, and conscious choices over coasting. Expect course corrections. Expect the kind of chaos that clears space not for drama but for direction. Everyone’s got a part to play. Read more here.

Elsewhere, we’re eating and drinking our way through north Goa as its F&B scene keeps pushing boundaries despite delayed flights, overpriced hotels, and disgruntled cabbies. And because no week is complete without a good drink, there’s a cocktail menu that reads like a medicine cabinet, led by a tequila-based Dolo 650 that proves clever naming doesn’t have to come at the cost of a well-made cocktail. We’re also looking at New York’s newest political figurehead: Zohran Mamdani, officially sworn in today as NYC mayor, the city’s youngest ever and first Muslim and South Asian leader and a rare public official who can say his résumé includes winning an election and once using Hinge.

Happy New year!
