A micro-brewery with a rock ’n’ roll soul. A cocktail bar that’s put feni front and centre. A cafe that’s winning hearts by slowing down. A pet-friendly wine bar with a view of the paddy fields. A fashion designer’s one-of-a-kind escape plan. Even as its reputation as a top-tier tourist destination continues to take a beating, north Goa’s F&B story keeps pushing boundaries, making sure you get a good meal and a fun drink as a reward for braving delayed flights, overpriced hotels, bad roads, and disgruntled cabbies.
As always, a quick disclaimer. What you’re about to read is a snapshot: highly subjective and very much of this moment. This list comes from a mix of personal favourites, trusted tips from friends and regulars, and a lot of time spent doing fieldwork (mostly seated at bars). This is also a sweet-spot list—no hole-in-the-wall joints and no tourist traps. Well, except for the first one, which could qualify as both, but still makes our cut. Like we said — highly subjective, don’t sue.
