It’s that time of year again—get ready to be soaked in an expected downpour, splashed on while waiting for our Ubers, drenched during a walk with the dog... But if you’re outfitted with the right gear, there’s no reason to fear the monsoon.

Luckily, many of this season’s coolest trends are perfectly suited for wet weather. Whether it’s the sudden obsession with retro windbreakers, trench coats, flip-flops, or the fact that the It shoes of the summer are both updates on the classic jelly sandal—Celine’s new PVC slipper and Jimmy Choo’s juicy, sparkly kitten heel—staying dry has never looked so stylish. The rain even made an appearance on the fashion runway’s earlier this year at Burberry’s fall/winter 2026 show. Creative director Daniel Lee said he was inspired by the patter of rain on his studio window, and so he set his show on a runway covered in puddles and sent out looks that included trench coats and trousers streaked with fringe to mimic rain drops, plenty of Wellington boots, and, of course, a moody rainy-day palette. Think of your monsoon wardrobe as a place for joy and expression, whether it’s the umbrella you carry or the waterproof bag you make your go-to for the season. Scroll below to see our top monsoon picks, the best restaurants to visit this month, and the Netflix film you need to watch next.
