Still from 'Murderbot'

If your feed is currently a blur of Cannes red-carpet memes, sparkly gowns, and who wore what how, here’s your sign to take a breather. Swap the sequins for some screen time with these five wildly different but equally binge-worthy releases.

This week’s streaming gems are perfect palate cleansers: a serial killer satire set on a bus, a robot with an attitude, a K-drama plated with romance and dumplings, and a conspiracy-laden deep dive into the world’s most wanted man. Consider this your red-carpet exit strategy.

01

‘American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden’ on Netflix

As if we didn’t already have enough shows about the world’s most wanted man, American Manhunt: Osama bin Laden throws its hat in the ring with a three-part docuseries that’s tailor-made for conspiracy theorists and history buffs alike. It revisits the decade-long manhunt that led to the 2011 Navy SEAL raid in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Packed with rare archival footage and tell-alls from CIA operatives and top names from the Bush and Obama eras, this one dives deep into the high-stakes game of hide-and-seek that ended in a compound and changed global politics forever.

‘Love, Death & Robots Volume 4’ on Netflix

Love, Death & Robots is back to scramble your brain (in the best way) with 10 trippy animated shorts. This time, the anthology covers everything from interstellar battles and sentient appliances to dino-riding gladiators and a surreal Red Hot Chili Peppers concert. Each episode, with its own standalone plot, dives deep into sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and comedy anchored, as always, by the core trio of love, death, and, of course, robots. Weird, wild, and way too cool to miss.

‘Maranamass’ on SonyLiv

Maranamass is the kind of gloriously unhinged, meme-fuelled brainrot that actually works. This Malayalam black comedy follows Luke PP, a self-proclaimed ‘sigma male’ and viral YouTuber who pulls off Logan Paul-style stunts—like listing his local police station on OLX or plastering posters of a politician’s search history—to troll corrupt authorities. When a serial killer dubbed the ‘Banana Killer’ begins murdering senior citizens, Luke becomes the prime suspect. A chaotic night bus ride throws Luke and his ex, along with a bus conductor, as well as the real killer together which sets off a string of wildly dark and hilarious events.

‘Murderbot’ on Apple TV+

Alexander Skarsgård stars in Murderbot as a security android who has hacked its own programming to gain freewill and just wants to be left alone to binge-watch soap operas. Based on Martha Wells’s hit series The Murderbot Diaries, this sci-fi dramedy follows the reluctant hero as it protects a group of scientists on a dangerous planet, all while grappling with a murky past, galactic threats, and pesky human emotions.

‘Tastefully Yours’ on Netflix

For food lovers and K-drama obsessives alike, Tastefully Yours serves up romance with a side of delicious drama. When a cocky Seoul heir with Michelin-starred baggage partners with a feisty small-town chef, sparks fly, both in and out of the kitchen. Expect plenty of simmering tension, sizzling dishes, and a warm-hearted journey from ego to empathy, plated beautifully in Jeonju.
