After drawing packed houses for the screening of the Stranger Things finale on New Year’s Eve, Netflix is trying the big-screen play once more—this time with One Piece. The platform will screen the first two episodes of season two in 200 theatres across the US, Canada, and Japan. It’s not a promotional stunt. After all, the Stranger Things finale reportedly earned more than $25 million at the box office.
The move seems to be simple. Even in the streaming-first world, there is appetite for watching together. Netflix is experimenting with ways to bring fan communities together for a shared experience.

For those inclined, Barlochan Cottage, the lakefront cottage from Heated Rivalry (finally available in India!)—the setting for some of Shane and Ilya’s most memorable scenes—is available to rent on Airbnb starting March 3. These screen-to-stay travel experiences continue. If the Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi starrer Wuthering Heights has got some period drama on your mind, book yourselves a night at Broughton Hall in Yorkshire, where parts of the 1992 adaptation of Wuthering Heights were filmed. Or consider the 17th-century Cwmmau Farmhouse, the childhood home of Shakespeare’s wife, Agnes, in Chloé Zhao’s Oscar-nominated Hamnet.
