Sometimes a purchase feels irrational until you use it enough to justify it. This is the kind of logic that I, a self-proclaimed “beauty person”, use right before spending money. I didn’t think I needed hair perfume, but I bought Moroccanoil’s hair fragrance mist because I already liked the smell of the brand’s Treatment Oil, and it didn’t take long to convince myself this was a practical purchase. And I’m happy to report it has easily been my best purchase of 2026, and it actually did change my life a little.
It might seem excessive in theory, but it’s less so in practice. Here’s the actual case for it: you know how you walk out of a sizzler dinner smelling like you marinated in the place? That’s because your hair holds scent longer than your skin does. Which means a good hair mist will likely outlast your EDP and carry you through the day. Not only do hair perfumes sit lighter and last long, but most also cost a third to half of what the EDP version of the same fragrance would—which is another thing you can tell yourself while adding to cart.
Of late, the category has also gotten more interesting with homegrown brands entering the space and niche houses expanding their hair ranges. And just last month, Bella Hadid also just launched Ôrebella hair and body mists. Of course, it all makes sense when it’s summer and smelling good all day is the brief.
