You can’t sell Masoom Minawala a 10-step skincare routine

The influencer-entrepreneur believes in the power of a “low-effort, max-effect” regimen

Global influencer. Entrepreneur. New mom. Masoom Minawala makes it look effortless. But when the hustle winds down, how does she really unplug? Spoiler: It’s less 10-step ritual, more real-life recharge, with a practical skincare routine, hair oil hacks and a nightly dose of gratitude.

What do your evenings usually look like?

Evenings are my reset—I’m either out playing padel or on a nice long walk. Then it’s all about family time, cuddles with the baby, and catching up on life.

Let’s talk PM skincare—what’s happening on that bathroom shelf?

I’m all about low-effort, max-effect skincare! If I’ve got make-up on, I’ll double cleanse with the ginseng cleansing oil from Beauty Of Joseon, followed by a good micellar water. Then it’s straight to the Estée Lauder Advanced Night Repair serum and Augustinus Bader’s The Rich Cream moisturiser. I’m currently loving my Neutrogena Hyro Boost as well, which is perfect for Dubai weather. That’s it. No 10-step routines here.

Any hair rituals before your turn in?

A good hair oil session is my ride-or-die—once or twice a week. Rosemary oil is my go-to to increase blood circulation to the roots. But no, I don’t sleep with it on. A few hours before a wash is my sweet spot.

Silk pillowcases—yay or nay?

Yay, but like, casually yay. I use one, but I’m not losing sleep if it’s in the laundry. It’s a good-to-have, not a must.

Any gadgets or supplements in the mix?

No LED masks yet—but they’re on my wishlist. Right now, I’m four months postpartum and breastfeeding, so supplements are a big deal—iron, Vitamin D, calcium and biotin are on daily rotation.

Shower thoughts—do you rinse off the day?

If I’ve been out, a warm shower is non-negotiable. I use a gentle body wash, love a good scrub a few times a week, and always finish with body lotion or oil—sometimes a shower oil sneaks in too. Some of my all-time favourite shower products are from Suhi & Sego, Nivea and L’Occitane.

What’s your ultimate comfort meal when it’s a cosy night in?

Homemade, always! But make it fun—Mexican tacos, a hummus bowl, or fried rice with silken tofu. And I always kick things off with a warm soup. Major comfort.

How do you get into DND mode?

I try (keyword: try!) to stay off my phone 30 minutes before bed—still a work in progress. But skincare is non-negotiable, and I use a hair-growth serum every night because postpartum hair fall is real. And always, always, a book—even if it’s just a page before I pass out.

Ideal bedtime vs reality check?

Ideal: 11 pm. Reality: closer to midnight.

Last thing before lights out?

A quiet thank you for the day. Gratitude always.

Tip for a good night’s sleep?

Keep your phone far, far away, and have a little ritual—whether that’s skincare, reading, or just breathing it out. Your body needs to know it’s time to power down.
