It’s an angel! It’s a goddess! It’s Zendaya in Matières Fécales!

The actor’s final look for ‘The Odyssey’ press tour came with wings and a 15-month-long wait time

If Zendaya’s press tour looks for The Odyssey could be encapsulated in one phrase, it would be ethereal goddess. The actress, styled by Law Roach (surprise, surprise!), attended the final premiere of the film in New York City wearing an all-white ensemble by Matières Fécales. The most striking detail of the look? A pair of large sculptural feathered wings on her back, reinforcing a sort of divine presence.

The ethereal floor-length dress—featuring a swirling sculpted bodice, asymmetrical neckline with feathers, thigh-high slit, and tattered train—was first seen on the Matières Fécales fall/winter 2025 runway in Paris back in March 2025. The brand revealed on Instagram that Roach had asked for the dress to be saved for Zendaya for almost two years after it was introduced on the runway as the final look of their debut collection. “We kept our promise and turned down so many great requests but knew this was the right fit for such an important creation in our archive,” said an announcement from the brand.

Keeping the focus on the dress, Zendaya opted for fresh, soft makeup and an intentionally undone braid that cascaded down her back, which complemented the dress beautifully without being over-the-top. She accessorized the look with sculptural ‘heelless’ Christian Louboutin x Matières Fécales pumps (the two brands have been collaborating since 2025) and dangling diamond earrings from Chopard.

It also isn’t the first time Zendaya has worn a look from the brand. Back in March, she opted for what the duo calls a ‘cunty pink’ (named after their Sphinx cat, Cunty) gown from their spring/summer 2026 collection for the Paris leg of The Drama press tour.

Originally the moniker of creative duo Hannah Rose Dalton and Steven Raj Bhaskaran, Matières Fécales (which translates to ‘Fecal Matter’) debuted as a clothing label at Paris Fashion Week last year. Dalton, who is originally from New Zealand, and Bhaskaran, who has Guyanese and Sri Lankan roots, first crossed paths while learning patternmaking at Collège LaSalle Montréal in Canada. The couple has since moved to Paris, where they continue to push boundaries of what’s considered beautiful with their collections that focus on experimenting with gender and authentic expression.

Earlier this May at the Met Gala, their looks were worn by Sarah Paulson and María Zardoya, as well as Demi Moore at the Cannes Film Festival.
