Still from 'Too Much'

Stuck indoors while the skies do their thing? These shows might just match your monsoon mood. Trainwreck: The Real Project X kicks things off with a harmless birthday invite that snowballs into a full-blown riot because, apparently, “accidentally public” is a real threat. If you’re craving something more personal (but no less chaotic), Too Much, Lena Dunham’s comeback show after Girls, follows a New Yorker in London spiralling through a quarter-life crisis, family meltdowns and all. And then there’s Ballard, where Maggie Q solves cold cases by night and refuses to let anything—least of all sleep—stand in her way.

‘Trainwreck: The Real Project X’ on Netflix

In Trainwreck: The Real Project X, a harmless birthday invitation becomes ground zero for one of the most notorious teen riots in recent history. Set in the quiet Dutch town of Haren, the documentary unpacks how a Facebook event gone accidentally public spiralled into a full-blown disaster that drew thousands of strangers, sparked mass looting, and unleashed riot police onto suburban streets. Watch it for the terrifying proof that sometimes viral fame comes with a very real price tag.

‘Too Much’ on Netflix

In Too Much, Lena Dunham sends a heartbroken New Yorker (Megan Stalter) to London for a fresh start—both romantic and professional. Here, she falls for a brooding musician played by Will Sharpe (patron saint of sad pretty boys). Inspired by Dunham’s own life, the show is part romcom, part millennial angst, with a parasocial obsession to her ex’s new girlfriend (Emily Ratajkowski!), steamy sex scenes, and the kind of messy feelings you can’t mute. It’s less ensemble than Girls but way more intimate.

‘Ballard’ on Prime Video

What happens when the queen of action TV meets the king of crime noir? Maggie Q stars as LAPD detective Renée Ballard leading a new cold-case division in this latest chapter of Michael Connelly’s beloved Bosch universe—think Nikita meets True Detective with a dash of The Night Shift. There’s also John Carroll Lynch as her right-hand man. Ballard proves that some mysteries are worth losing sleep over.

‘Narivetta’ on SonyLIV

What happens when a young cop’s unwavering loyalty collides with the brutal machinery of state violence? Tovino Thomas stars as CRPF constable Peter Varghese, whose posting to Wayanad during the 2003 Muthanga tribal protest transforms him from dutiful soldier to reluctant witness of systemic oppression. Alongside Suraj Venjaramoodu as his mentor Bashir Ahmed, Thomas delivers a powerhouse performance that strips away the romanticised veneer of uniform and duty to reveal the human cost of political apathy and land disputes.
