Even Rosemin Opgenhaffen is hooked on ‘Love Story’

The nighttime routine of the founder of Rosemin Beauty involves pared-back skincare, George Michael on the playlist, and some good old television

Rosemin Opgenhaffen has had enough of the multi-step routines. As the founder of RR&Co, a Dubai-based bespoke luxury management agency, she has spent two decades interacting with some of the most recognisable women in the world, in their homes, observing how they consume beauty. What she found was a unanimous need for products that delivered what they promised. “There was a clear gap between aspiration and reality,” she says. “Products were either overly complex or not designed for women who are constantly on the move—travelling, working, leading.”

This tension between how beauty is sold and how it’s actually used is what led her to her latest business venture, Rosemin Beauty. Don’t expect trend-driven drops or an extensive lineup, though. Instead, there are simply colour corrector and concealer duos, and liquid eyeliner pens and mascara for eyes. “Luxury, to me, has never been about excess—it’s about precision. It’s about editing.” She was also sure who she was building it for. “Women with warmer complexions, particularly south Asian women, were still underserved. It isn’t just about the shade range, but there’s a lack of understanding [of what their skin needs].” The brand leans into that without over-explaining it. “I approached it the same way I would curate a wardrobe or a home: every product has to earn its place. True luxury today is ease. It’s knowing that what you reach for works, every single time.”

Off-duty, that same minimal, utilitarian philosophy carries through. Below, Opgenhaffen shares her no-compromise approach to cleansing, favourite under-eye fixes, and what stays on her bathroom shelf and what doesn’t.

What’s the first thing you do when you get home from work?

I slow everything down. I change into something soft and comfortable—it’s a small thing, but it helps me start winding down. Then I remove my makeup, no matter how late it is. I’ve never compromised on that. It signals that the day is done.

What do your evenings look like right now?

I’m entering motherhood now, so I naturally keep things calm. It’s usually a quiet dinner at home or something simple with close friends. I’ve moved away from overstimulation—I’m honestly exhausted by the time I get home. My husband [businessman Javed Opgenhaffen] and I go for an evening walk together. It’s a chance to talk about the day. There’s always a moment where I check in with myself… Sometimes it’s just sitting in silence, sometimes it’s planning what’s next.

What’s your shower ritual like at the moment?

I love a hot shower and really indulging in products. It’s my favourite part of the day, one of the few moments when I’m completely disconnected. I’m using oils—anything that keeps my skin hydrated and helps prevent stretch marks. I’ve been going through bottles of Mustela stretch mark oil, which I stocked up on at a French pharmacy.

And your skincare—what’s on your daily rotation?

It’s very edited. I double cleanse because I wear makeup daily. I start with a cleansing oil—right now I’m using Nuxe Paris—followed by a gel cleanser. I’m also trying Korean brands like Medicube, and I use a Foreo mini device regularly. I focus a lot on my under-eye area; it’s always been a concern. I can’t live without 111Skin eye masks. If I feel puffy, I’ll do a manual face massage with Augustinus Bader face oil. In the mornings, I keep it simple with a vitamin C serum. I don’t like to make my routine overly complicated. Skin should still feel like skin, just at its best.

What does self-care mean to you right now?

Protecting my energy and my sleep. I’m a terrible sleeper, so anything that helps me relax and get quality rest, I’m open to. Massages are my main indulgence. But equally, it can be something as simple as stepping away from my phone, dimming the lights, and allowing myself to just be. That, to me, feels like luxury.

And what does your night routine look like?

There’s always some music playing—at home, in the car, even in the bathroom. It sets my mood for everything. Lately, it’s mostly ’80s and ’90s… George Michael is always on the playlist.

Before bed, I like to go over the next day. I need a plan, a to-do list—it helps me mentally switch off. I know it’s not ideal, but I do like to watch something for about an hour—there’s a lot of good television right now. I’ve been watching Love Story, Friends & Neighbours with Jon Hamm, and Imperfect Women with Kerry Washington.

Then it’s simple: phone on charge, silk eye mask on, and sleep.

The Rosemin aesthetic in three words?

Intentional, refined, effortless. So, velvet skin, kohl-lined eyes, and a soft matte finish that feels like second skin. And a wardrobe that mirrors the same: a practical classic bag, loafers or Chanel ballet flats, a blazer worn just off the shoulders.
