The best things we spotted on shoppers at The Wedding Collective were the accessories

From ruby-studded ladybugs crawling on a head to vintage Chanel and Louis Vuitton, here’s what guests wore to shop

Fashion at bridal shows tends to skew predictable. But this past weekend at The Wedding Collective, guests treated the event less like a shopping trip and more like an excuse to play dress-up. Between the monogrammed totes and bridal trousseau shopping bags, there were flashes of personality: a pair of iridescent sneakers that caught the light, a ruby-studded ladybug headband (because why not), and, tucked under arms, vintage bags with the kind of patina you can’t buy new. It was street style at its best: personal, a little unserious, and entirely memorable. Below, the details that made us look twice.

Cool stack. Who’s your dealer? “This is all from my father, Jai Manjani, who’s a jeweller. He has an unusual set-up—he primarily works through word of mouth and is known for natural diamond jewellery. One’s a tennis bracelet—a classic that everyone should have. I like to add a bit of colour, that’s why these two pieces here—emerald and ruby—that are daintier. And I like doing one statement piece always to bring it all together. I don’t believe in saving fun jewellery for occasions; you should wear what makes you happy every day.”

You look like you’re ready to sprint through an art fair. What’s the fit? “On Cloud sneakers—they’re so comfortable. The pants are from CDC—I love having multiple pockets. My top is almost-vintage Geisha Designs with a Japanese vibe, and the bag is a denim Louis Vuitton I bought in Singapore about 20 years ago. The print isn’t very common now. And this is an Abraham & Thakore kedia that I like wearing as a jacket.”

What’s the story behind these chunky bracelets? “They’re silver. I stumbled upon them in a little boutique in Athens while running around the city, and I love them.”

Where’s your necklace from? “It’s Zara! I have a knack for picking stuff from Zara that doesn’t look like Zara. My bracelet stack is gifts from people paired with my very old Casio digital watch. I’m carrying a vintage Chanel bag that I got from Vestiaire. I’m a big shopper, so if I find anything second-hand it’s great!”

That headband is impossible to ignore. Who do we thank? “It’s by my very dear friend Queenie Dhody—and it’s real silver and rubies!”

Anisha Mulchandani, beauty entrepreneur

A mini Lindy! How’d you score it? “I’ve had this for about two years. I got it while on holiday, from the Hermès store in Switzerland. I had been eyeing it for a really long time. I’m a collector, so I keep going to the stores and I get stuff if I get lucky. I absolutely love the charm on it and the Twilly—it’s cute and just dresses it up a bit.”
