We’re here for Anne Hathaway’s maternity looks featuring her very real bump

The star is making a convincing case for an unconventional maternity silhouette—low-rise pants

We all knew going into 2026 that the year would belong to Anne Hathaway. Between five major projects—Mother Mary, The Devil Wears Prada 2, The Odyssey, The End of Oak Street, and Verity, which releases this October—the actor also announced in June that she is expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman. Mother is busy!

And while the press tour for The Odyssey gave us plenty of ethereal draped dresses and gowns—a rather straightforward take on red carpet maternity dressing—the actor and her stylist Erin Walsh have switched gears for her upcoming film, The End of Oak Street. The new formula? ‘Jeans and a nice top’. More specifically: ultra-low-rise pants and a nice top that reveals the entire bump.

At the Los Angeles premiere on Sunday, the actor wore low-waist jeans from La Ligne with a custom two-tone Prabal Gurung top that extended into a floor-grazing train with red-and-pink Aquazzura pumps and Bvlgari jewels. The halter-neck, high-low silhouette left her entire bump on display, prompting a certain section of the internet to decide that it had to be fake. In response, she posted a video of her getting ready for the premiere captioned “Fake hair, real bump”.

Then, the very next day, she did it again. For an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Hathaway wore a flouncy halter-neck top with another pair of low-waist trousers, this time from New York-based label Lein Studio. The ruffled top plunged into a V before fastening at the chest and cascading down either side of her exposed bump. She accessorised the monochrome set with chunky jewellery and sunnies (courtesy Bvlgari again), and peep-toe mules.

Low-rise pants are difficult enough to wear under normal circumstances. With a pregnant belly, one would imagine constant adjusting, tugging, and perhaps even regret. On Hathaway, they stay put, while also making her look ridiculously chic.

Two looks do not yet make a maternity uniform, but we’re watching closely. If you’re looking to steal the look, you’re in luck. Lein Studio’s Alexandra top and Banks trousers are currently available on their website for pre-order.
