31 pizza places for the purists and the pineapple-topping lovers
From classic Neapolitan to thin-crust Roman-style pies, picante pizza to nori-topped yakitori pizza, our pan-India pizza guide is everything you imagined—and didn’t
Many of us have spent precious hours poking Claude, scanning Google reviews, or relying on the dough cognoscenti that we call friends to answer one simple question: Where do I go for great pizza?
But in this melee of endless restaurant openings that never seems to stop, putting together a compendium of pretty good pizzas from across India is as serious a task as sampling the pizza genres we have invented today. We round up the best pizzas and pizzerias around the country that feature everything from Parmesan powdered pies to ones topped with farm-to-table-ish ingredients, from wood-fired Neapolitan and thin-crust Roman-style pizza in Mumbai to some with gochujang and tahini in Chennai, scroll below for our pan-India pizza list.
We know Bandra has a line problem, but trust us when we say this one is worth queuing up. East 7th Pizza and Deli, a Brooklyn-inspired spot, serves not just some of the best pizzas and sandwiches in the city but also some great hot honey. Their dough, which is made in-house, features a crust that is crispy on the outside, and soft and airy on the inside—perfect New York-style. This deli-style pizzeria is inspired by chef Rehan’s time in New York, where his love for pizza took shape. Living on East 7th Avenue, he immersed himself in the city’s love for pizza, and he’s brought all that back to Mumbai. Their spicy vodka and pesto and chimichurri roast chicken pies sound divine, and their Roman-style classic square is perfect for a solo date.

Prosciutto Di Parma
If you’re obsessed with a classic Neapolitan-style crust, Gustoso should be your most-ordered list. The man behind their pizzas is chef Giulio Adriani, who brings his Naples training to Mumbai. The pollo piccante, a medley of spicy minced chicken, tomato sauce, mozzarella, and jalapeño, and the montanara, a lightly fried pizza crust baked with San Marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, parmesan, and basil, are our faves. End the night with their freshly made tiramisu.

“Salad could never” and we agree. Aglio has New York-style pizzas for every mood. Think: a classic cheese slice or even a picante pizza. Founded by hustling entrepreneurs and culinary experts Nirvaan Thacker, Jai Sarvaiya, Anuj Solanki, and Advait Agnihotri, the same people behind the Lebanese brand Za’atar in Mumbai, Aglio started during the 2020 lockdown and has made its mark across Mumbai. The place has been all over our Instagram feeds after opening its doors in July, and it’s safe to say the hype is real. If there were a pizza Olympics, this pizza place would likely be on the podium. We’re talking contemporary Neapolitan pizza with a lighter dough and a taller crust made right in Mumbai by chef Vincenzo Capuano, who is the 2022 World Pizza Champion. A NY-style slice
An extension of Amol Kumar’s pizza universe, the name says it all: New York-style pizza with East Coast flair when it comes to the interiors. This pizza-by-the-slice place is probably the cool-girl equivalent of pizzerias. With only seven pizzas, along with dough that ensures lightness and airiness, homemade tomato sauce, and low-moisture mozzarella, the menu chooses quality over quantity. A spiced pepperoni slice and the shroom slice are among their standouts. Read our full review here.

This pizzeria is named after its owner, Susanna Di Cosimo, who also won the Pizza Maker of the Year 2025 at the Special Awards of 50 Top Pizza Asia-Pacific 2025. Cosimo made her way to India in 2013 from Naples, and it was the beginning of a whole new journey for her as a tour guide for Italians travelling in India. During Covid, she shifted gears and opened this pizzeria, and it’s been a place for authentic Neapolitan food ever since. Pizza4Ps is not just trying to be “a great pizza restaurant”; CEO Yosuke Masuko and deputy CEO Sanae Takasugi want to make the world smile with their take on the classics. Pizza4Ps has branches in Japan, Vietnam, Cambodia, and Indonesia; Bengaluru is where you can find them in India. The yakitori pizza is where a fusion of Japanese yakitori and Indian spice happens—think chicken with Indian spices meeting soy and hand-toasted nori alongside house-pulled mozzarella. A smoky seafood pizza is also on the cards.

Farmers Veg
Earthy, rustic, warm, and inviting, with a view of wood-fired ovens everywhere, this bakery is nostalgia personified. It was started by brothers Nikhil and AB Gupta; one’s vegan and the other isn’t, so you know this is a diverse menu right off the bat. When they launched The Pizza Bakery in 2017, sourdough was relatively uncommon in pizza, but they got into it right away. They have the classics covered, but if you’re feeling extra fancy check out their smoked blue cheese and truffle oyster mushroom variants.
New York Pizza Co, Koramangala

These guys have cracked the code to the perfect NY-style pizza; for them, it’s all in the fold. It’s one of the few places in the city with vegan options too!
Lazy Leopard, Gopalpuram

Their name is not just a random alliteration that rolls off the tongue easily. Their baked pizza dough results in a fluffy crust with leopard spots, hence the name. With their newly opened Anjuna location, you can expect to enjoy the same great food, just in a different setting.
Goodfellas, Benaulim
Pizza with burrata
Known as the pizza people of Goa, Goodfellas does justice to its movie-inspired name. Their cosy bar seating is a good place to enjoy their signature Goodfellas pizza, which is made of tomato sauce, mozzarella, jalapeno, chicken, spicy salami, and garlic. Have a bite and think of that iconic prison sequence from the namesake movie where mob boss Paulie uses a razorblade to slice garlic so thin it dissolves instantly in a pan of oil.

Neapolitan style with seafood and olives
The restaurant is in an 80-year-old Fontainhas home
An Italian grandmother’s kitchen in an 80-year-old Fontainhas home is probably what pizza dreams are made of, and Casanoni makes them come true. This place brings old-world trattoria charm to Panaji, and ingredients like olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and cheese are all flown in from Italy, while the rest are locally sourced. The Parma ham Napoli is a must, and while you’re at it, have a limoncello drink to round everything up.
This quaint place nestled in Anjuna serves bold flavours and slow-cooked sauces. With four of the five people running this joint being Italian, this place can vouch for authenticity on the table. The space is relaxed, the menu is short and sweet, but once you know instantly that you can't do wrong with your order here. Our favourite is their signature crudo rucola e grana with tomatoes, ham, rucola, and parmesan shavings that is also a favourite with their regulars.
The best thing about this small pizzeria may not be its location, but how fresh their pizzas taste even after delivery. Just follow the instructions on pizza box to reheat and you will be rewarded with an artisanal Neopolitan pizza at home. Their Larry Bird chicken pizza and Choriz de Goa one is a local favourite.
