‘Frankenstein’ arrives on Netflix, and it is officially Jacob Elordi season

If one monster-sized dose of Jacob Elordi isn’t enough, here are a few more of his films and shows to binge this weekend while the obsession’s still fresh

Still from 'Frankenstein'

Frankenstein drops this week, marking the start of Jacob Elordi’s gothic era. The internet’s favourite heartthrob has gone from red-flag royalty in Euphoria to aristocratic chaos in Saltburn, and now he is the tragic creature in Guillermo del Toro’s Frankenstein, streaming on Netflix. And this is only the beginning. Emerald Fennell’s take on Wuthering Heights arrives later this year. So yes, it is officially Elordi season... Consider this your cue to revisit his filmography all weekend.

01

‘Frankenstein’

Horror’s having its glow-up era from haunting new indies to fancy revivals like Nosferatu to now Guillermo del Toro’s long-dreamed adaptation of Frankenstein on OTT. In the film, Oscar Isaac plays a brooding Victor Frankenstein, a scientist obsessed with conquering death, who stitches together a living being from corpses. Mia Goth is delightfully eerie as Elizabeth, and Jacob Elordi plays the tragic monster who is abandoned by his creator and spirals from longing for love to vengeance (for everyone saying he has no range, the man is trying!).

02

‘Euphoria’

Before he was a melancholic monster in Frankenstein, Elordi was terrorising suburban teens as Nate Jacobs—the OG walking red flag. Sam Levinson’s Euphoria is a glitter-soaked fever dream of trauma, TikTok eyeliner, and wildly unrealistic high-school chaos that had everyone in a chokehold. It follows Rue (Zendaya), a teenage addict trying to survive love, loss, and relapse. The aesthetics? Immaculate. The life lessons? Deeply concerning. If Elordi’s performance as Nate drives you up the wall, watch it for Zendaya’s Emmy-winning performance. It’s a good time to catch up before season three drops next year.

03

‘Saltburn’

Elordi sent the internet into a frenzy in Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn, playing Felix Catton, a devastatingly good-looking, carefree aristocratic heir who strolls through life (and his family’s estate) with effortless charm and privilege. It’s the role that cemented his status as the internet’s boyfriend. The story follows Oliver, a lonely Oxford student who becomes obsessed with Felix and is invited to the Catton mansion, where things go from rich-people-aesthetic to deeply unhinged. Yes, there are scenes you cannot unsee, but it’s deliciously twisted fun for anyone who enjoys wealth, obsession and questionable life choices served in vintage glassware.

‘The Kissing Booth’ trilogy

Based on Wattpad turned bestsellers, The Kissing Booth films follow Elle Evans, a quirky high school girl whose life spirals when she breaks her lifelong “best friend rules” and falls for Noah Flynn —her best friend’s older brother, played by Jacob Elordi. Cue secret romance, long-distance drama, college decisions, and lots of kissing booths. Elordi may cringe at it now, but this Netflix trilogy had teenagers losing their minds. It’s cheesy, dramatic, and perfect for a mindless, second-screen binge.

05

‘Priscilla’

Sofia Coppola’s Priscilla (A24, of course) flips the glittery Elvis love story on its head and tells it through Priscilla Beaulieu’s lonely, isolated perspective. Elordi steps into rhinestone boots as Elvis Presley, all charm, chaos and distance, while Cailee Spaeny delivers a hauntingly soft yet powerful Priscilla. What begins as a fairytale romance becomes a gilded cage at Graceland—fame, control, and silence replacing love. The film earned glowing reviews for its dreamy aesthetics, emotional restraint, and heartbreak hidden behind eyeliner and chandeliers.
