Still from 'Conan O'Brien Must Go' season 2

With everything going on, from the constant buzz of uncertainty to headlines that shift by the hour and a barrage of misinformation that’s impossible to dodge, it’s no wonder our minds feel like overloaded browser tabs. Sometimes, the most radical thing you can do is take a breath, switch off the noise, and let yourself just be. And while that won’t solve everything, it might just help you gather yourself.

So, why not take a break with shows that soothe, surprise, or simply entertain? There’s Conan O’Brien as he awkwardly embraces global cultures in Conan O’Brien Must Go, and a 70-year-old dreamer in Muthayya, whose moving journey could be your unexpected hope. All this and more options to help you stop scrolling the news, just for a bit.

‘Conan O’Brien Must Go’ season 2 on JioHotstar

Conan O’Brien Must Go is an Emmy-winning travel show where the comedian hops across the globe, surprising podcast fans in their hometowns, meeting their families, and clumsily (but endearingly) immersing himself in local culture. Think heartwarming tourism meets total chaos. Season one took him to Norway, Argentina, Thailand, and Ireland. Now, in season two, O’Brien lands in Spain, teams up with Javier Bardem, battles olive oil, and attempts to out-act Vin Diesel, because of course he can. It’s delightfully weird, unexpectedly sweet, and peak Conan.

‘Poker Face’ season 2 on JioHotstar

If you’re into crime-solving shows with offbeat charm, quick wit, and a side of chaos, Poker Face should be your next binge. Natasha Lyonne returns as Charlie Cale, the human lie detector with an accidental talent for sniffing out a murder. On the run from a vengeful casino boss, Charlie criss-crosses the country solving murders with nothing but her instincts, snark, and a very nosy sense of justice. This season is stacked with brilliant guest stars, like Katie Holmes, Cynthia Erivo and John Mulaney. An inverted whodunnit, each episode here follows the “howcatchem” format where we know the killer upfront, but watching Charlie unravel the truth is the real treat.

‘Gram Chikitsalay’ on Prime Video

If Panchayat swapped photocopiers for first-aid kits, you’d get Gram Chikitsalay. This heartland drama follows Dr Prabhat, a city-slicker medic assigned to a dusty rural clinic where the cows outnumber patients and red tape runs thicker than IV fluid. As he battles systemic apathy and village scepticism, he’s also forced to confront his own shortcomings. The show’s also been in the news lately, with allegations of plagiarism adding to the pulse.

‘Britain and The Blitz’ on Netflix

History buffs, this one’s for you. Britain and The Blitz pairs striking colourised footage with real accounts from survivors of Hitler’s 1940 bombing campaign. It’s a haunting, immersive retelling of a nation under siege, and a vivid reminder that resilience doesn’t always look heroic.

‘Nonnas’ on Netflix

Move over Ratatouille, it’s Nonna time. In this warm-and-fuzzy comedy based on a true story, Vince Vaughn plays a grieving son, who copes by opening an Italian restaurant in NYC staffed entirely by real-deal Italian grandmothers. With a side of laughter and a heap of heart, Nonnas serves up the ultimate comfort food story, complete with a starry cast (hello, Susan Sarandon and Joe Manganiello) and lots of pasta.

‘The Royals’ on Netflix

If you’re looking for some mindless escape, The Royals, with a plot that gleefully ignores logic, might just be your new guilty pleasure. Set in the fictional city of Morpur, this over-the-top romcom throws together a crumbling royal family, a self-made CEO, and more palace gossip than a buzzing group chat. Ishaan Khatter plays a hot but emotionally constipated prince, while Bhumi Pednekar’s Sophia is all sass, smarts, and disruption. Somewhat cringe and somewhat predictable, the show throws up shirtless polo matches, royal feuds, and a luxury haveli makeover that somehow becomes the least dramatic part of it all.

‘Muthayya’ on ETV Win

At 70, Muthayya isn’t slowing down, he’s just getting started. A small-town odd-jobber and lifelong film buff, he dreams of seeing himself on the big screen before he dies. With only an acre of land, a trusty mechanic friend named Malli, and stubborn hope, Muthayya decides to chase the one dream he never gave up on. This Telugu film is a quiet gem and deeply affecting.
