An Elie Saab wedding gown—minus the couture invoice

Earlier this week at the Elie Saab H&M launch party in Paris, amid the tailored pieces, lace dresses, and sparkly, party-season staples that make up the collection, the Lebanese designer and Swedish retailer unveiled an unexpected addition to their upcoming collaboration: a white wedding dress. And yes, it’s as dramatic as one would hope.

The gown features an off-the-shoulder neckline built from twisting layers of fabric, a corset with sheer mesh panels at the back embroidered with glass beads and sequins, and a mermaid-silhouette skirt that ends in a dramatic train. There is, of course, a veil too. Sold separately, the floor-length mesh veil is hand-embroidered with floral motifs and dotted with even more beads and sequins.

The gown will be priced at ₹47,999, while the accompanying veil comes at ₹22,999. At ₹70,998 for the full look, it’s not exactly an impulse buy. But compared with the usual price of admission to the Elie Saab bridal universe? It’s a steal.

“Bridal is where everything began, the moment where the language of Elie Saab found its voice. To be able, through this collection, to offer a bridal piece at a different price point is something meaningful. It allows a wider audience of future brides to experience our world on their own terms,” Saab says. Consider us convinced. Brides-to-be, mark your calendars.
